The future of many endangered species rests in the hands of volunteers generously contributing their time, skills and hearts to wildlife conservation and keeping endangered animals from extinction. Researchers have come to the shocking result that the global wildlife populations have fallen 58% in the last 40 years due to habitat loss and human influences and for many species that wakeup call came too late, they are now practically extinct in the wild. One very sad example is the northern white rhino, that has been poached for its horn for decades and that now has one single male individual left in the wild.
