Rising majestically out of the red dirt, Uluru is a massive sandstone monolith that lies at the heart of the baking Northern Territory. Believed to have formed over 550 million years ago, this magical structure is deeply sacred to the local Anangu Aboriginal community, and indeed the best way to experience Uluru is with a traditional owner.
450km from the nearest town, Alice Springs, you will want to make sure you stay overnight, allowing you to view the stunning changing colours of Uluru at sunrise and sunset (maybe with a glass of bubbly in your hand!). Once the sun has set, you will be treated to another natural spectacle: the glistening canopy of stars in the sky!
